Terms of Service

The terms on which you may use the Talea app.

Last updated 23 July 2026

Acceptance of these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Talea Ltd (“Talea”, “we”, “us”) and govern your use of the Talea mobile app and related services. By downloading, accessing or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The service

Talea digitises paper receipts. A shop's Talea box can send a receipt to your phone with an NFC tap, or you can scan a paper receipt yourself. The app provides receipt history, search, spending insights, invoices and quotes, and exports. The app is free to use, with optional paid subscriptions. We may add, change or remove features over time.

Your account

Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login details secure, and to be responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the app. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Subscriptions & billing

Talea offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions — currently the Premium and Trader tiers, available on a monthly or annual basis. Paid subscriptions are sold as in-app purchases and billed through your Apple ID, subject to Apple's terms.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the rate then in effect.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple ID subscription settings after purchase.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store terms; we do not process payments directly and cannot issue App Store refunds.

The price and features of each tier are shown in the app before you purchase. We may change subscription pricing for future periods; any change will be made clear before it applies to you.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Talea lawfully and not to misuse, interfere with, reverse engineer, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the app or its systems, and not to use it to store or share unlawful content. The app and its software remain our intellectual property; we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it as intended.

Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we work to keep receipt data accurate, the app relies on data from tills and scans and we do not warrant that it is error-free or suitable for accounting, tax or legal purposes without your own checks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Profile › Delete account). We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or where necessary to protect the service or comply with the law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised “last updated” date; continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions? Email info@trytalea.com.
